ecpc_news_from2

30 January 2010

Dear ECPC Full Members,

In accordance with the statutes of the European Cancer Patient Coalition (ECPC), notice is hereby given that nominations are requested for the election to the ECPC Board of Directors (2010-2013).

The ECPC's Board of Directors consists of at least five and at the most nine individuals. At least half of Board members must be individuals who have or have had cancer. Members of the Board are appointed for a period of three years (2010-2013).

Each Full Member organisation of ECPC has the right to propose one candidate from their organisation for election to the ECPC Board. Nominees are usually a senior representative such as a governing body member, a chief executive, or someone that holds a similar position within that organization. The working language of the Board is English, and Board members must be able to both speak and write in English fluently.

A letter with the call for nomination as well as the nomination form has been sent per postal mail to all our ECPC Full Members. Please get in touch with us should you not have received it by the end of next week.

The closing date for nomination is 1 March 2010, which is four weeks before the election will take place. Candidates will then be given the opportunity to present themselves at the ECPC General Assembly that will be held on 7 March in Antwerp, although this is not mandatory. Until mid of March you will receive details about the eligible candidates and further information about the voting process including the voting form. Voting will take place from 29 March until 19 April.

The continuing work and success of ECPC is dependent on its members becoming actively involved in the Coalition. Please show your interest in and support of ECPC by nominating a qualified candidate for the ECPC Board who is willing to dedicate time to topics relevant across countries and disease areas. We all look forward to receiving your nominations and to bringing committed people into ECPC’s Board with diverse experiences, skills and perspectives from all across Europe.

Questions and requests for further information should be directed to the ECPC Office, Michaela Geissler at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Kind regards,
Tom Hudson
ECPC President
