ECPC Statement: Changes within the ECPC board

Following the statutory Board meeting of the European Cancer Patient Coalition (ECPC) held on November 16, 2009 in Amsterdam, the Coalition has made some changes to its Board. A majority Board decision has decided to appoint a new Chair/President.

Lynn Faulds Wood has been replaced by Tom Hudson as Chair/President who will take over the role immediately. Tom Hudson was previously the Vice President. Lynn Faulds Wood remains on the Board and the ECPC would like to thank her for performing the role of Chair/President for the past 5 years. During her Presidency we have come a long way achieving numerous significant successes and this is recognised by all.

As part of this change it has been decided, following a further majority Board decision, that Simona Ene and Heide Preuss will become the new Vice Presidents. Sandy Craine and Tom van der Wal will remain in their roles as Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Other roles are unaffected. The changes were made in the appropriate manner and in accordance with ECPC’s organisational statute.

The ECPC is committed to delivering the best advocacy for its membership. These changes will help us accelerate the reform required for us to become a more democratic and professional organisation meeting our vision of being the leading body that represents the interests of cancer patients in Europe.
